This is what all veneer lovers dream of – Walnut in large quantities with the most uniform growth, color and quality possible. In times when this type of wood is becoming a sought-after and correspondingly expensive commodity (in good qualities), this dream usually remains an unfillable wish. Only those who value their partners and suppliers in good and bad times and treat them fairly are given the opportunity to acquire such precious logs – and on top of that “standing” trees, i.e. before they are cut down.

For many decades we have maintained a close, trusting partnership with a small, second-generation family company based in the American Midwest. When in that agricultural area such a number of fantastically grown Walnut trees were about to be felled that our partner had never seen in the entire history of the company, the phone of course rang in Karlstadt…

What was even more – we were also given the chance to inspect and select the standing trees before the cut down, which in “Corona times” proved to be not so easy at all. A special entry permit for our buyer Michael Martin ultimately made it possible for him to choose the best of the best for us from this “batch of the century” and to influence gentle felling and adequate removal. Every single tree was felled and transported in the presence of Michael Martin!

In total, we took over ten containers of round wood – believe it or not, 95 individual trees with an average volume of around 2.5 m3, which are now on their way to Karlstadt. This consignment will occupy a special, if not unique place even in our company history, which is definitely not poor in exclusive rarities. We expect to be able to report excellent qualities after the processing into veneers and will then report further on this.

If you would like to be exclusively informed in advance, please let us know. We will be happy to hear from you.
