All creative and design possibilities, which are already “hidden” in wood can be brought to light through more exacting state-of-the-art veneer production. Maximum exploitation and thus most economic use of this valuable raw material is also ensured by slicing or rotary cutting the valuable wood into thin veneer leaves mostly only 0.5 – 0.7 mm thick. This ecological (and economic!) aspect – especially for rare and sumptuous species – cannot be valued more: in comparison to solid wood, up to 50 times more of the quantity of unique and natural surfaces, depending on the veneer thickness, can be produced.
To summarize, the following main reasons are given as to why the production of veneer should be given preference over other comparable woodworking methods:
- Growth, texture and grain of the log can be optimally adapted to the production process.
- Unlimited design possibilities are given during initial production and subsequent usage of the veneer.
- Raw material lumber is used to its maximum extent quantity-wise, natural resources are saved.
